NASHVILLE CVB LAUNCHES ENHANCED MUSIC SITE
Visitors Get a Backstage Pass to Music City’s Music Scene Via a New, Interactive Website

NASHVILLE, TENN. – Close your eyes and imagine you are in Nashville. What do you see? More importantly, what do you hear? For many it is the sounds of Music City that draw them in, and it’s not just the steel guitar and fiddle they hear either. Nashville’s music scene is turning heads and changing perceptions as it spans many genres of music. Now there is a music site that offers users an in-depth look at music in music's hometown.

The user-friendly site www.visitmusiccity.com/music, launched by the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau (NCVB), is debuting several enhancements including a new multi-media player featuring music and original videos allowing the user to listen to music while they browse or catch a glimpse of Nashville’s music scene in a variety of videos. Other new features added to the site include NCVB’s first blog on Nashville's music scene with contributors ranging from music insiders to avid fans, as well as a new section for user-generated content where visitors can post stories and photos sharing their Music City experiences.

The site makes it easy to find live music with a complete listing of upcoming performances as well as a new live music map and live music venue showcases. Going a step further, the site offers concert announcements, ticket on-sale dates and other up-to-date news releases in the world of music.

Music aficionados can learn how Music City got its name, read up on featured songwriters’ profiles and test their music knowledge (Who is Mr. Guitar?) There is also a behind-the-scenes look at some of Music City’s unique events including Music City Connection: Heroes Behind the Hits, a radio show broadcast by XM Satellite Radio that showcases the songwriters of popular hits. Watch videos of the Music City Walk of Fame induction ceremonies which honor the musicians, entertainers, songwriters and music executives who have contributed significantly to the city’s music industry.

The music site will also service a visitor’s vacation planning needs. Choose from several music-themed vacation packages, create your own package, or book a hotel room. So whether you are planning a trip, looking for a great show or just brushing up on the music buzz www.visitmusiccity.com/music is the one-stop site for it all!

The mission of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau is to maximize the economic contribution of the convention and tourism industry to the community by developing and marketing Nashville as a premier destination.
